The last year might easily be an inflection point where the mass of investors each peered into their crystal ball and saw a less-than-clear vision. Now, because crystal balls don’t work (apologies to the gypsies in the audience), one must realize that anytime you look into a crystal ball, the image is never clear. So too are the projections in the future, in regard to economics and especially market movements. This futility does not scrap the effort but rather refines the criteria people use to measure and estimate future trajectories. After experiencing a multitude of cycles and market behaviors, perhaps the best advancements one can make is not getting snarled into the hairball of minutia and micro movements. We have warned about not confusing hiccups for heart attacks before and it seems appropriate again in 2016.
