Market Talk: Gene Peroni is Interviewed by Bloomberg Radio

Gene Peroni, AAM’s technical analyst, was interviewed by Tom Keene, host of “Bloomberg Surveillance” this past Tuesday, June 7. Below is a summary of the discussion from Gene’s perspective. Click here to listen to the interview.

As I see it, a flaw with the Wall Street adage “sell in May and go away” is that it leaves open the question of when to come back into the market. I believe the stock market is oversold and that a summer rally could soon begin. Missing key rally days in the next few months could greatly affect portfolio performance. I do not believe the market currently carries significant speculative baggage. The market’s broad and diverse leadership has not been disrupted by general market volatility. I continue to favor stocks in industries such as agriculture, cloud technology, health care, industrials, domestic oil and gas explorers, and specialty chemicals. The railroad group continues to exhibit very good technical characteristics with uniform strength among many stocks in this category.
